Notes

This was the first conclave held by the new Section SR-7, formed by 4 Virginia Lodges previously in SE-8 joining 10 North Carolina lodges from the former SE-7. From North Carolina: Keyauwee 70, Occoneechee 104, Croatan 117, Wahissa 118 , Tsalagi 163, Itibapishe Iti Hollo 188, Nayawin Rar 296, Klahican 331, Catawba 459, and Eswau Huppeday 560. From Virginia: Nawakwa 3, Blue Heron 349, Kecoughtan 463 and Chanco 483.

The Chanco Courier article about the 1994 SR-7 Conclave reported that “section elections were very spirited, but the North Carolina power move prevented a Virginian from being elected to a Section office.” The Kecoughtan Kryer echoed the sentiment noting that “Representing the state of Virginia were Nawakwa 3, Blue Heron 349, Kecoughtan 463, and Chanco 483. As one might guess, there were 10 lodges representing North Carolina. It was felt that Nawakwa put together a fine slate of candidates for section offices, but to no avail.”

The host lodge for the 1994 SR-7 Conclave, Keyauwee 70, formed in 1992 from the merger of Tali Taktaki 70 and Uwharrie 208, would itself merge later in the year with Tsalagi 163 to form Tsoiotsi Tsogalii 70.

Eswau Huppeday Lodge took first place honors in the team dance competition at the first SR-7 Conclave and a few months later were awarded the title of National Dance Team Champions at the National Order of the Arrow Conference held at Purdue University.
