Notes

For the third year in a row the Order of the Arrow National Chief was in attendance at the SR-7A Conclave. Forrest Gertin, Vigil Honor member of Tschipey Achtu Lodge, Seneca Waterways Council in Rochester NY has served as the NE-3A Section Chief, and is a freshman at Georgetown University’s Edmund A. Walsh School of Foreign Service.

Also making a guest appearance at the Conclave Expo on Saturday was Maddy Ryan Mulligan, 18 year old female NASCAR driver from Chesapeake VA.

Section SR-7A celebrates their 20th Anniversary in 2017. The Section was officially announced as part of the 1997 Southern Region Realignment on January 1, but was not implemented until after Section Conclaves in the spring. The realignment was notable for reuniting the six Virginia Lodges after they were split between SR-6B and SR-7 for four years.

The 2017 SR-7A Conclave will be the tenth region/section gathering hosted by Blue Heron. Lodge 349 previously hosted Area 3C Pow Wows at Camp Pipsico in 1961, 1966 (called ‘Training Conference’ that year), and 1971.

In 1977 they hosted the SE-1 Conclave, in 1988 the SE-8 Conclave, and in 1996 the SR-7 Conclave. Blue Heron has hosted SR-7A Conclaves in 2001, 2007, and 2013.
