Although this was the third annual gathering of the SE-1 OA lodges, the Conclave booklet refers to it as the “Second Annual Section 1 Conclave,” because the first gathering in 1973 was called a “Pow Wow” and the term “Conclave” was not used until the following year.

Unlike most other Conclave emblems, the 1975 SE-1 Conclave patch and neckerchief do not feature the theme of the event, which was “Nachenol Kiginolewagon,” Lenni Lenape for “The Three Tokens.” The April 1975 edition of the Tutelo Torchbearer explains the reference is to the three tokens of the Ordeal: Fire – Arrow – Kichkinet.

  • The Chanco Courier was awarded first place by the Virginia Press Association in the Section newsletter competition, and the Blue Heron Drumbeat gained an honorable mention.
