From the 1957 Area III-C Manual of Lodges:

“Out of the rain and mud at Camp Nisatin, the site of the 1952 Area III-A Powwow, came a fine and wonderful development. In spite of the more than slight dew and cold, the Powwow was a tremendous success. Splendid fellowship and fine leadership, excellent forums, discussion groups, exhibits and demonstrations, colorful ceremonies; all these were there. But, happily the big event was the vote which placed the southernmost Lodges into an Area of its own– III-C. Region 3 at that time had only two Arrow Areas, hence III-C.”

Camp Nisatin, considered the birthplace of Area 3-C, is now part of Hawk Mountain Scout Reservation.

In March of 2009 a neckerchief slide from the 1952 Area 3-A Pow Wow sold on eBay for over $500.

Dave Scocca’s 2008 article on the former oaimages blog about the 1952 Area 3-A Pow Wow lists the lodges comprising the section, but also notes that it is doubtful all were in attendance since Wyona 18 had fallen dormant and Amanquemack 470, while chartered in March, did not induct members until later in the year.
