1983 was the first Conclave of the newly-formed Section SE-8 according to the Kecoughtan Kryer article about the event. OA Section List reports the first SE-8 conclave was in 1982.

From the OA Section List site: “In 1982, areas in the Southeast Region were reorganized. Conclaves under the new sections were held that same year, except for Section SE-5, in which both the “old” and “new” sections held conclaves. Section SE-1 was divided into SE-8 (Virginia lodges) and SE-9 (MD, DE, DC, WV, VA). That same year they held a joint conclave, hosted by Nentego 20 at Camp Rodney. The patch for this event still showed SE-1, as it was ordered before the section was split.
