Chanco Lodge 25th Anniversary round patch

This 3 inch round patch was issued in 1977 on the occasion of the Lodge’s 25th Anniversary celebration, held March 4-7 at Siouan Scout Reservation in Ebony, VA. Although classified by the Blue Book as the 483 R-3, it was actually issued for the 1977 Spring Fellowship.

The April/May 1977 edition of the Chanco Courier reports there were 109 attendees at the event, including 19 Ordeal and 9 Brotherhood candidates. Lodge Chief Robby Brown presided over the activities, which included a slide show of Chanco Lodge history by Russell Darden.

Also issued for the Lodge’s 25th Anniversary was a special version of the Chanco Lodge flap patch which the emblem above mimics. Due to the limited number made it is one of the more difficult Chanco flaps to acquire.
